The 19th Century Just prior to the turn of the 19th century, after the American Revolution had drawn to a close, a new breed of immigrant arrived in the islands. These were one-time English colonists usfs campgrounds in America who were still loyal to England and its government. They left Virginia with their slaves and settled in the Bahamas.
